BHA 5 x 1/4 x 7/8 Metal Grinding Disc, Angle Grinder Wheel - 5 Pack
Key features
- METAL AND STAINLESS STEEL: Grinds down welds, mill scale, rust, and burrs on carbon steel, stainless, cast iron and other ferrous metal. Fabricators reach for these metal grinding discs on weld cleanup, edge prep ahead of welding, and work that finishes flat.
- A24 ALUMINUM OXIDE, FIBERGLASS REINFORCED: Extra coarse 24 grit aluminum oxide in a hard resinoid bond pulls material fast and holds a usable profile as the grinding wheel (5 inch) wears. Fiberglass runs through the disc for side-load strength under heavy grinding.
- GRINDING ONLY, NOT CUTTING: Type 27 angle grinder wheels work the face at a 0 to 15 degree angle and are not rated for cut-off work. For cutting steel or stainless, run a BHA cut-off wheel instead. Matching the wheel to the job protects the wheel and the operator both.
- PRECISION-BALANCED, RUNS TRUE: This 5" Type 27 angle grinder wheel is built flat and balanced on a concentric arbor, so it spins true with minimal wobble and vibration for steady, even stock removal; fits any 5" grinder with a 7/8" arbor, rated to 12,200 RPM.
- TRUSTED BY PROS: BHA (formerly Black Hawk Abrasives) is a name welders, fabricators, and metalworkers rely on - delivering consistent quality and dependable performance job after job, backed by real customer support.
BHA (formerly Black Hawk Abrasives) is a professional-grade abrasive brand, built on Long Island, New York, since 2015. These 5-inch metal grinding wheels are made for the shop where the grinder runs all day, and the work has to keep moving. Each 5-pack contains Type 27 depressed center grinding discs measuring 5 x 1/4 x 7/8 inch, rated to 12,200 rpm. The quarter-inch thickness gives the wheel enough body to take heavy stock removal without folding under pressure, and the depressed center clears a standard guard so the operator can work the face flat or at an angle without fighting the tool. The abrasive is A24 aluminum oxide - an extra coarse 24 grit grain in a hard resinoid bond. Coarse grain pulls material fast on the first pass. The hard bond holds that grain in place long enough to finish the job rather than shedding it across the floor. Fiberglass reinforcement runs through the body of each grinding disc, adding side-load strength for the moments when the wheel catches an edge or the angle shifts mid-pass. These 5 grinding wheels work metal and stainless steel. Welders knock down weld crowns and dress edges before the next pass. Fabricators run them on mill scale, rust, flash
